International Exchange Admission Guideline Fall 2017

1. Types of Exchange Programs

Types of Exchange Programs
Type Details
Exchange
(Undergraduate/Graduate)
1. Duration: 1 semester or 1 academic year
2. Credit
- Undergraduate: Up to 18 credits per semester (Minimum 6 credits)
- Graduate: Up to 9 credits per semester (Minimum 3 credits)
3. Tuition: UOU tuition waived or charged depending on MOU with partner university
Visiting
(Undergraduate/Graduate)
1. Duration: 1 semester or 1 academic year
2. Credit
- Undergraduate: Up to 18 credits a semester (Minimum 6 credits)
- Graduate: Up to 9 credits per semester (Minimum 3 credits)
* Consult with home institution’s academic advisor for the credit transfer details.
3. Tuition: UOU tuition charged
Dual Degree
(Undergraduate)
1. Duration: 2 academic years or longer
2. Degree: UOU degree conferred (All majors except Medicine)
- Consult with home institution’s academic advisor for the degree requirements.
- Each dept. has different graduation requirements.
3. Tuition: UOU tuition waived or charged depending on MOU with partner university

* For credits earned during the break, separate tuition is charged regardless of the exchange type.
* Tuition fee is KRW 2,881,000 for Humanities, Social sciences and Business.
* Tuition fee is KRW 4,032,000 for Natural sciences and Engineering programs.

3. Language Proficiency Requirement (Recommended)

Type Requirement
Korean Classes TOPIK(Test of Proficiency in Korean) Level 3 or higher is recommended.
English Classes TOEFL iBT 61 or higher is recommended.

* Payment of Tuition, Dormitory and Insurance Fee
7 ~ 9 June

[From overseas]: Overseas remittance of the fees to UOU International Office bank account.
[In Korea]: Pay the fees using the virtual account on the bill of each applicant
Issuance of Visa Documents End of June (Expected) Sent to each applicant by post
(To the address written on the application)
Visa Application Beginning of July ~ At overseas Korean Embassies or Consulate Generals
Arrival to UOU 27~ August (Expected) Recommended Check-in dates are to be notified afterwards.
International Student Orientation 30~31 August
(Expected)
MANDATORY for all new students.
